2015 Year In Review

Oh what a year it's been! The last few months have flown by with barely a moment to catch my breath, but I'm so grateful for the journey and the things that have happened. In 2015 we got a kitten named Banjo, celebrated 8 years of marriage with a photoshoot by one of my favorite photographers. I got to meet Whippy Cake at the Creative Live class I went to in Seattle, and Elise and Scott of Hey Sweet Pea made a stop on their cross-country journey to visit me. I helped launch 2 amazing new logo designs: Ali Bee and Cedar + Grace and with my new business, Your Ampersand Studio I've helped even more get clear on their dream clients and their big dreams for their businesses and lives. Launching and growing my business has been such a fulfilling part of 2015 and I can't wait to see where it goes. I also had the honor of seeing a logo I designed up on a local photographer's brand new studio. What a highlight of my year and confirmation that this is what I'm meant to do! I starred in a construction safety video playing the farfetched role of "office manager" and through this work project learned so much about videography and editing. The whole State was engulfed in flames again during the forest fires this summer which caused me to miss my brother's wedding. But thanks to the power of social media I was able to get our tickets refunded in full! In 2015 I invested in business coaching with Kyla Roma, and I know that my time working with her has impacted me as a person and an entrepreneur. Skype dates with her are the best. We purchased and put down gorgeous grey laminate flooring in our living-room and kitchen and re-did the cupboards and doors too. Of course as soon as we are able to start making this house feel like a "home" I get a new job in the city. I spent a couple months commuting (4 hours each day, 3 days a week) but we are trying to decide if selling the house and moving is the best option in the future. I had the pleasure of photographing so many lovely people and families this year too: a vow renewal, maternity shoot, family portraits, engagement, mother and son and a wedding. I love being behind my camera. We will see where 2016 takes us, in so many ways. 2015 was full of joys, struggles, heartache, laughter and wholehearted living. I'm thankful for all it held and am eager for the future.
